The Art and Music of Dan Smith

These two large works (20x30) were created for the Dowagiac Up Front Art Walk, a part of the annual Dogwood Festival. The painting on the right, "1915 Millpond," was named first runner up in the 2015 contest. I was very pleased with the award, and doesn't FIRST runner up sound so much better than saying second place?

Steve Barber (www.SteveBarberMusic.com) used this illustration as the cover for his "Lucky Lindy" CD of music for children of all ages.

This is a series of Michigan themed works. Prints of the first two are currently being sold at "Amy Zane," a gift store on the downtown Kalamazoo Mall.

This is an example of a zentangle portrait, a fun project that makes an excellent gift.
